この度WaPoC初始動の企画展として、メンバーであります藤安淳の個展”empathize @ Fundokin Apartment in OITA”を開催致します。
大分市中央町にあるフンドーキン醤油事務所と１８戸の賃貸住宅が入っていたマンション、フンドーキンマンションは１９６７年に完成しとてもモダンなデザインです。
その価値を大分市中心市街地の活性化に生かそうと１０月１２日からスタートしたイベント”ART PROJECT OITA 2013「循環」at フンドーキンマンション”が開催中。
こちらのイベントにWaPoCはART PROJECT OITA 2013参加企画として参加致します。
藤安のシリーズ”empathize”は双子を年齢や性別を問わず、主に彼らの痕跡のある場所で撮影している作品をこのフンドーキンマンションの一室を使用し、場所性が作品に与える影響、さらには作品がもつアイデンティティーや他者との関係性を提示致します。
大分まで少し遠いですが是非お越し下さい。
またこの展示会場の写真をインターネット上に期間限定で公開致します。

＜展覧会概要＞
WaPoCの基本テーマである「あらゆる可能性を模索した表現/展示を提示する」としての企画を、前住人の気配が微かに残るフンドーキンマンション(大分市中央町)での一室を使用して、メンバーの藤安淳による個展を開催致します。
藤安のシリーズ”empathize”は双子を年齢や性別を問わず、主に彼らの痕跡が残る場所で撮影をし続けています。
今回の展示では、作品の”人物”と”場所”との関係性をそれぞれとは全く関係のない場 -部屋で展示することで、場所性が作品に与える影響、さらには作品がもつアイデンティティーや他者との関係性を提示致します。
また、この展示会場の写真をインターネット上に期間限定で公開致します。
大分という地方都市で展示することは、一見不便なようですが、行きたいところをGoogleストリートビューで検索するように（たとえば東京や大阪、ニューヨーク、パリからでも）場所や時間を選ぶことなく、まるでその場にいるような形で作品を鑑賞することも可能です。
インターネットの性質である「公開し不特定多数に発信できる」ということが、作品発表の”場”及び”時”を開放する試みになるでしょう。

Exhibition Summary
WaPoC is pleased to announce a solo show by Fujiyasu Jun entitled 「empathize」 at the Fundokin Apartment as part of ART PROJECT OITA 2013.
This exhibition by Kansai-based photographer Fujiyasu Jun is the first exhibition planned by WaPoc, and expresses our basic theme: “Exploring for a solution to each and every possibility.” The exhibition will be held in Fondokin Apartment in Central Oita City, a place which has little sign of the people who used to inhabit it.
“Empathize” is Fujiyasu’s newest series of work, and examines twins regardless of their generation, sex, and race, along with the vestiges of the places they have inhabited.
This exhibition will feature photographs that examine the relationship between ‘person’ and ‘place’ in a room completely unrelated to the project. It aims to examine what influence places have on artwork, as well as the artwork’s identity and relationship to the viewer.
Furthermore, you will be able to see this exhibition on your computer screen as if you are in the gallery, wherever you are, whenever you want. While holding this exhibition in Oita may seem inconvenient, you can see Fujiyasu’s works via the Internet in the same way you would check out various cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Paris, or New York on Google Street View. We think that the vastly open and public nature of the Internet will dissolve the notions of ‘place’ and ‘time’ of the exhibition.

JR: 10 minutes on foot from JR Oita Station (Funai Central Exit)
Ferry: Osaka → Beppu : From Beppu Sightseeing Port, take the bus to Beppu Station (15 mins). From Beppu Station, JR Oita Station is about 15 minutes by train.
Kobe → Oita: From Oita Port, JR Oita Station is about 5 minutes.
Air: From Oita Airport, JR Oita Station is about 1 hour by train.
